- Must be cured before use by placing a 5cm layer of building sand in the base to protect against heat and cracking. Start a fire with kindling and newspaper, then add a small log once it’s burning. Let the log burn out and cool, repeating the process two more times to cure the chimenea. Afterward, you can safely build larger fires.
- Before using, add lava stones or builder's sand to the bottom of the chimenea, filling up to ¾ of the way. Light three small fires, gradually increasing their size, and let each burn out before starting the next. Then, light a larger fire, adding one log at a time for less than an hour. Always cover the chimenea when not in use, ensuring it’s cool to the touch first.
